Abstract

510,423. Brakes. CONTI E. Dec. 8, 1938, No. 35903. Convention date, Dec. 8, 1937. [Class 103 (i)] An elastic coupling used between a brake cable and the actual lever or other part operating the brake, comprises a cylinder 1 closed at one end with the other end pressed inwards to form two flattened portions 8, 9 apertured at 10 for connection with the brake proper. A piston 5 slides in the cylinder and has a rod passing through the closed end with threaded means for connecting the brake rod 6. A locking-nut 7 permits regulating the lengths of the rod 6. The elastic means comprises a rubber mass 2 and a spring 4, although only one of these means is necessary. In assembly, the parts are placed in the cylinder 1 which are then compressed as shown, limiting the outward movement of the piston 5.
