Abstract
368,594. Brakes. SOC. D'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES DABEG, 4, Rue de General Foy, Paris. May 13, 1931, No. 14155.. Convention date, March 21. [Class 103 (i).] In a two-part rod forming one member of the transmitting-mechanism of a railway vehicle brake and of which the part is automatically screwed into the other part to compensate for wear of the brake shoes, the nut 9 is wholly contained within a tubular part 7 and is held therein entirely or mainly by friction grip. The other part 6 of the rod screws into the nut g. The nut may be further secured by crimping the rod 7 at 11 and by a tubular rod 12 soldered at 14 which with the stuffing- box 13 serves as a protecting means for the device. There may be a further crimping at the other end of the nut and longitudinal corrugations in the nut and rod. The nut may be of bronze and the rod 7 of iron so that the difference of expansion with rise of temperature causes the parts to fit more tightly.
