[Class 136 (i).] Transmission mechanism for the rear brakes of cycles is provided with one or more universal connections, for example between the pull rod d and the bell-crank lever b at the upper end of the front down tube, such universal connection comprising a ball-headed stud a secured to one part, such as the lever b, and a socket formed in a nut c screwing on an adjacent part, such as the lower end of the rod d, the stud. a passing through an opening in the side of the nut c and acting between the inner V-shaped end of the socket and the lower end of the rod d. A lock-nut e secures the nut c in position.
