Abstract

493,161. Trailer brakes. BROCKHOUSE & CO., Ltd., J., and DEAR, A. T. C. July 1, 1937, No. 18265. [Class 103 (i)] A trailer brake applied by overrun of trailer on tractors is also provided with a manual operating lever 12 retained in position by a pawl which only operates when the brake is applied manually and is released when overrun occurs. The lever 12 forms part of the overrun brake mechanism and the pawl 16 is pivoted at 15 on the lever 12 and is held between the pull pin 10 of the overrun mechanism and the lever 12. When the lever 12 is operated manually the pawl 16 engages a rack 17 which holds the brake in applied position.
