Abstract

373,205. Brake-operating mechanism for trailer vehicles. DELANO, E., 7, Almirante Barroso, Santiago, Chile. Nov. 20, 1930, No. 34965. [Class 103 (i).] In an arrangefor automatically applying the brakes of a trailer vehicle when this vehicle tends to overrun the tractor vehicle and in which the brake operating lever is mounted on the tractor, the coupling bar H of the trailer vehicle is directly connected to the lever A and this lever is pivotally mounted at F in a member B which is pivoted at C to the tractor D so that it may follow the deviations of the trailer. The lever is connected bv a rod L to the trailer brakes and has a projection G which normally abuts on the member B whereby the tractive effort is transmitted to the trailer. A spring K disposed between the bar H and a plate J held by a pin I on the lever A serves to absorb road or other shocks.
