Abstract

414,868. Brakes for hand-propelled vehicles. HARRIS & CO., Ltd., W. J., and CAREY, S. G., 65, Haymerle Road, Peckham, London. May 25, 1933, No. 15158. [Class 103 (i).] A brake for perambulators and other handpropelled vehicles comprises an arm t on a spindle r carrying a brake shoe q, the arm having on one edge, a cam path with which engages a vertically slidable member h whereby the brake shoe is forced against the wheel z. The arm t and member h are arranged in a casing k mounted on the vehicle spring c, the member h being guided by a pin g thereon which projects through the casing and through the end of a lever m pivoted at n. The lever may be foot-operated or may be connected to a hand-lever arranged near the handle of the vehicle.
