Abstract
321,286. McCausland, F. Sept. 28, 1928. Control mechanism.-Inverted-lever mechanism for operating the Bowden wire controls of motorcycles &c. comprises the combination with a tubular fitting a, inserted in the end of the handle-bar b and formed with a pair of lugs c between which the control lever d is pivoted, of a removable inner tube e, Figs. 1, 3 and 4, having at its inner end an abutment f for the sheath g of the Bowden transmission, the inner cable h of which passes through the tube e to its point of attachment to the lever d and is adapted to be readily inserted in and removed from the tube through a radial slot l; the tube e is provided with lugs i adapted to fit between the lugs c, the pivot pin k of the lever d passing through the lugs c, i and serving to secure both the lever d and the tube, e. The tube e and lugs i may be bent from a single sheet of metal. Specification 226,266 is referred to.
