Brake mechanism. - The brake blocks f are mounted on calliper levers e, pivoted at a<1> to clips b on the forks, and provided at their upper ends with rollers e<2> bearing upon an arched bridgepiece h, which engages transverse slots in the upper parts of the levers e and is adapted to be raised by means of a flexible wire d actuated from a lever on the handle-bar, thus separating the upper ends of the levers e, against the action of a spring g, to bring the brake blocks f into contact with the wheel rims. The outer sheath d<1> of the flexible transmission is secured to a screw plug engaging a socket c<1> at the upper end of a stirrup member a rigidly mounted on the pivot pins a<1>.
