Brake mechanism.-A control or equalizing device for simultaneously-operated front and rear wheel brakes of a motor-cycle comprises a lever g mounted on a pivot k, which is itself carried by a pair of links l, so as to be capable of a pivotal movement about a shaft o rigid with the motorcycle frame, the lever g being connected by cable or rod transmissions a, b to the front and rear brakes, and the pivot being out of alignment with the points of connection to the transmissions a, b. The lever g may be actuated by a pedal i, or by a hand-lever on the handle-bar and a cable. The relative lengths of the arms e, f of the lever g may be varied. Stop lugs such as p enable one brake to be applied in the event. of the failure of the transmission mechanism of the other brake.
