498,986. Converting. SUDDEUTSCHE APPARATE-FABRIK GES. April 14, 1938, No. 11549. Convention date, May 14, 1937. [Class 38 (ii)] In an arrangement for converting D.C. to A.C., current is supplied from the D.C. circuit to the centre tapped primary P of a transformer T through two variable resistances h, h<1> arranged on either side of an armature e which is mounted between the poles of an electromagnet N S. The armature is energized by a winding f supplied from the secondary S through a condenser K which may be varied to alter the operating frequency. The resistances h, h<1> are formed from carbon discs and are mounted between springy supports i, i<1> which may be given a slight bias to one side to ensure starting. The electromagnet N S may be replaced by a permanent magnet.
