497,967. Electromagnetic interrupters. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R. July 2, 1937, No. 18400. Convention date, July 6, 1936. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] A voltage regulator for dynamos is caused to regulate for current by means of an additional armature which acts upon the armature of the voltage regulator. An armature 9 intermittently short circuits a field circuit resistance 25 under the action of a voltage coil 14 and a vibration coil 15. An additional armature 8 is operated by a current coil 13 to cause an adjustable stop 22 to act upon the armature 9 when the dynamo load reaches a predetermined value. A spring 21 is carried by the armature 8, and a voltage coil 12 and a contact 17 constitute the usual cut-in switch. Screws 34, 35 provide for adjustment respectively of the cut-in voltage and reverse current causing cutting out. In a modification a single winding is used on a core symmetrically arranged beneath the armatures 8, 9 and the current coil is placed on one limb of the voke 5. A current coil may be added to the core 7. The armature 8 may be divided to operate the cut-in switch separately, or the cut-in switch may be entirely separate. The armature 9 may operate upon two or more pairs of contacts or upon a sliding contact resistance or a column of carbon discs.
