[Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] The output of a dynamo a is controlled by a resistance c in series with its field b, the resistance c being short-circuited intermittently through vibratory contacts d, e, the spring mounted armature f carrying contact d forming part of the magnetic circuit of a permanent magnet i the effect of which is opposed by an electromagnet g energized in accordance with the dynamo voltage and/or current. The armature f is attracted, to close contacts d, e, by the magnet r and is released to open these contacts when the electromagnet q is sufficiently energized. The member o co-operates with an adjustable screw member q to form a shunt path for the flux of the permanent magnet i. Specification 21813/12, [Class 38 (v)], is referred to.
