Abstract
537,175. Valve amplifying and generating circuits. BLUMENTHAL, L. J., and PERELMANN, A. Oct. 23, 1939, No. 28482. [Class 40 (v)] An ionic discharge tube having an anode, a cathode and a collector electrode has a transverse magnetic field applied thereto to control the amplitude and frequency of the current produced in the circuit of the collector electrode. A permanent magnet or an electromagnet may produce the field or the anode current may flow through the electromagnet coils 25, Fig. 3. A transformer output may be provided with primary windings in both the anode and collector electrode leads or separate outputs may be taken from the two electrodes, Fig. 4 (not shown). Fig. 6 shows a push-pull generator or amplifier in which the collector electrodes 34, 35 function as grids and in the case of a generator frequency and phase are controlled by condensers 40, 42 and resistance 41.
