488,502. Electromagnetic interrupters and relays. COYNE, A. E. Jan. 8. 1937. No. 655. [Class 38 (v)] In an electrically-maintained tuning fork operating coils 3 are mounted on the ends of the fork so that the magnetic flux is restricted to the fork itself. Fig. 1 shows a fork operated by direct current which is interrupted at contacts 5, 6. The polepieces 7 are shaped as shown so as to overlap. Fig. 3 shows a form having polarizing coils 2 and operating coils 3 energized by a fluctuating current.
