Abstract

498,648. Lubricating-pumps. CROSS, R. C. March 24, 1938, No. 9047. [Class 102 (i)] In a pump for lubricant &c. the pump barrel 2 is rotatable about the axis of the plunger 3 in order to bring its passage 4 alternately into register with suction slots 15 and discharge ports 13. The suction slots 15 communicate with the interior of the casing 1, to which lubricant is supplied by a pipe 16. The barrel 2 is formed with teeth 12 gearing with a worm on the driving-shaft 6, and is pressed axially by a spring 22, which yields in event of excess discharge pressure. The plunger 3 is reciprocated by a lever 10, which is oscillated by the rods 9 of two eccentrics on the shaft 6. The stroke of the pump can be varied by adjusting the fulcrum-pins 17 of the lever 10 by means of a fork 1 and rod 20, the pins 17 being carried by blocks 19, which are slidable in grooves in the lever 10.
