Abstract

Screw - actuated pumps.-In a pump or compressor, the pistons 10<1>, 102 of two coaxial cylinders M<1> M<2> are actuated by screw and nut glaring 1, 2 driven by the gear train 6, 7, 8. The pistons are prevented from rotating by projections H<1>. H<2> sliding in slots in the cylinders. These projections may reverse the driving gear at the end of the strokes by engaging pins T on a sliding rod X and thus operating levers W, Z connected to a clutch 14 in the driving gear. In another form, the clutch is operated by a screwed portion of the shaft A engaging a nut B connected to the clutch through levers and a rod carrying two stops.
