Crank-actuated pumps; assembling. -The cylinder A of a steam-engine pump or compressor carries a doubletruck piston A<1>, and both are sufficiently large and provided with side apertures A<2>, A<3> respectively to accommodate internally the crank B, B<1> with the swinging end of the connecting-rod B<2>, and permit the assembly of the crank-shaft A<4> and connecting-rod. The crank-shaft is mounted in bearings carried in the cylinder wall apertures.
