Abstract

Actuating by liquid pressure.-Liquid, e.g. oil, is oscillated by pistons 5 on a shaft reciprocated from a main shaft 1, and reciprocates pistons 31 on the shafts of compressor pistons 17. The compressor may be in one stage or more, and in the latter case stages may be cut out by hand or automatically. The cross head 3 may be replaced by a piston acting on liquid. The end of the shaft 4 may carry a, first stage compressor piston. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the method of aotuation may be applied to reciprocating pumps in place-of compressors. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
