Abstract

381,886. Turning. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. May 3, 1932, No. 12738. Convention date, May 11, 1931. [Class 83 (iii).] An eccentric piston c of a rotary piston engine which revolves with a shaft b and cooperates with a sliding abutment k, is given a non-circular shape, during manufacture, by a cutting tool which bears on the rotating surface of the piston and which is given a reciprocating motion similar to that of the abutment during the operation of the engine. The tool is reciprocated by connecting-rods and a crank mechanism from the shaft b and a small clearance is provided between the abutment and the piston.
