Valve gear.-A halftime gear for cam shafts comprises a disc b on the cam shaft a formed with slots c, d at right - angles, in which engage slipper blocks mounted on pins f, g carried by a shaft e, which is driven from the crank shaft m by three or more open-ended connecting-rods n, o, p, q engaging cranks on the two shafts e, m so as to work only in compression.
