Valves.-In a two-stroke engine in which a piston driven by an eccentric compresses combustible mixture in a pump opposite to, and coaxial with, the cylinder, and assists in compressing scavenging-air in the crank case, the scavenging-air enters the crank case through a valve such as a rotary disc valve on the shaft.
