358,274. Cam and tappet mechanism; pumps. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. Oct. 6, 1930, No. 29812. Convention date, Aug. 23. [Class 80 (iii).] In devices employing a reciprocating element 1, such as valves and pumps, which element is acted on by a spring 13 and a tappet 2, a cam 19 is provided for stopping the movement of the element. W h e n a handle 12 and shaft 12a are turned, the peak of the cam contacts with the disc-like foot 10 of the element and raises it out of range of the movement of the tappet. Normally the tappet will be actuated by a rotating cam.
