Abstract
495,544. Pumps. SOC. ANON. A. SAURER. March 23, 1938, No. 8880. Convention date, April 5, 1937. [Class 7 (ii)] The drive of an exhaust-driven turbo charging blower 2 is assisted at low speeds by the engine itself ; at higher speeds, a clutch 9, 10 is released by centrifugal weights 14, or by liquid pressure produced by an engine-driven pump, e.g. that of lubricant acted-on by a gear-wheel pump. The engine drives through a gear box 18. As shown the clutch is also held out of engagement until the throttle lever 30 is moved to the full-load position, shown dotted. A stop 34 then engages a lever 36 and reduces the pressure of a spring 24, which allows the clutch plate 10 to move to the left, when the pressure of the centrifugal weights 14, or of the pressure liquid, is reduced.
