Abstract

488,396. Pumps. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.-GES. July 7, 1937, No. 18900. Convention date, Aug. 11, 1936. Drawings to Specification. [Class 7 (ii)] An auxiliary driving means for a turboblower driven by an exhaust gas turbine comprises an additional turbine driven from the lubricating or cooling system of the engine. The additional turbine operates chiefly at starting and has an adjustable nozzle for the driving fluid which is automatically adjusted according to the charging pressure and also according to the position of the filling lever of the fuel pump. When the output of the exhaust driven turbine becomes adequate for the turbo-blower, the additional turbine is disengaged by a control device dependent upon that output or the charging pressure or else the control device opens a byepass for the additional turbine.
