Abstract

475,329. Regulating. JUNKERS FLUGZEUG - UND - MOTORENWERKE AKT.-GES. May 21, 1937, No. 14169. Convention date, May 22, 1936. [Class 7 (vi)] [Also in Group XXIX] In aircraft engines charged by a pump driven by the engine, the temperature of the charge delivered by the pump is maintained substantially constant by adjustment of the pitch of the propeller blades by means of a thermostatic device arranged in the pumpdelivering conduit. When the temperature of the charge rises too high, the pitch of the propeller blades is increased so as to reduce the speed of the engine and pump, and vice versa, The Figure shows an engine 20 driving a charging-pump 30, in the delivery pipe of which is arranged a heat-sensitive member 32 actuating, through a capsule 33, the valve 16 of a servomotor piston 11 which adjusts the pitch of the propeller blades through racks 8, 9 and pinions 6, 7.
