Abstract

881,628. Cooling cylinders. USTAV PRO VYZKUM MOTOROVYCH VOZIDEL. June 12, 1959 [June 18, 1958], No. 20203/59. Class 7(2). Cooling air for an internal combustion engine is regulated by driving a fan 5 at predetermined speeds by means of a liquid, delivered from a pump 1 to a turbine 5 built into the hub of the rotor and regulated by a valve 6, in the induction pipe of the pump, which is controlled by a rod connected to the fuel control member 7. The pump 1 delivers less liquid in lower ambient temperatures because of the viscosity of the liquid and in conditions of very low ambient temperatures e.g. -30‹C. a thermostatically controlled valve 8 is arranged to further restrict the intake of liquid into the pump.
