Abstract

1284904 Hydraulic cooling fan drive ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd 9 July 1970 [15 July 1969] 35551/69 Heading F2D [Also in Division F1] A cooling fan motor 14 of an internal-combustion engine is supplied with fluid via a first duct 17 by a constant flow hydraulic pump 12 (e.g. engine driven) which also supplies fluid via a second duct 18 to another (e.g. steering) motor 13. Fan motor speed may be made temperature dependent by a solenoid 35 controlled throttle valve 16 in a fan by-pass duct 22. Fluid supply to the fan motor 14 may also be by-passed when the steering motor 13 is driven by the action of another valve 25 responsive to the pressure drop across the steering motor.
