Abstract
1418375 Hydrostatic transmissions DAIMLER-BENZ AG 27 Nov 1973 [28 Nov 1972] 55028/73 Heading F2W A hydrostatic drive, comprising a variable delivery pump 10 supplying a motor 11 which drives auxilary components of an internal combustion vehicle engine, e.g. the fan, dynamo and coolant or oil pump, also supplies fluid under pressure to another auxiliary component. The auxiliary component described is a servosteering system 25. The pump 10 supplies fluid through a restrictor 17, the pressure drop across which is applied to a double acting piston 14 by lines 21 and 22, the piston adjusting the pump output, and through a pressure regulating valve 18 to the motor 11 (via line 16a), an output limiting valve 19 also being provided which can supply pressure fluid to a further pump adjusting piston 15 if the output pressure is high enough. The servo-steering system 25 is supplied through a flow regulating valve 27 having a piston 28 acted on by the pressure drop across a restrictor 26 the valve 27 also being controlled by the pressure in the valve output line 24 acting on a piston 29 to reduce flow when the steering is in the straight ahead position. A maximum pressure valve 30 and an excess pressure valve 31 are also provided. A feed pump 12 in conjunction with a relief valve 13 supplies the hydrostatic transmission. The valve 18 of the hydrostatic transmission is acted on by the pressure in line 24 of the steering supply to cause the valve 18 to produce a higher regulated pressure by stressing of spring 33 when the steering is operated and pressure in line 24 increases. The motor 11 may be of variable capacity. The restrictor 17 may be at position 17a downstream of valve 18 rather than upstream as shown.
