Abstract
309,591. B³chi, A. April 14, 1928, [Convention date]. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. - The compressor for supplying the charge air is driven either by a turbine whose working fluid is the engine exhaust and compressed air or by independent turbines, one using the exhaust and the other compressed air. The compressed air is supplied by an engine-driven pump. As shown, a two-stage piston pump 19 supplies air from the first stage to the turbine 8, the second stage supplying starting air; a three-stage pump may be used, the third stage supplying fuel injection air.
