Abstract

495,372. Cartons for liquids. LACOUR, G. March 11, 1937, No. 7213. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 13, 1937.] [Class 66] The whole of the interior of a paper container for liquids is coated with auto-adherent material, such as latex containing tannin, in order that the container may be readily closed and sealed by pressing together the edges of the mouth opening. To enable a pouring opening to be provided when required a spout or plug 2, Fig. 2, provided with a cord 3 and pull-ring 6, is disposed within the sealed container, or a band 7 folded in bellows fashion, Fig. 4, and provided with a pull-tab may be disposed between the sides of a part of the mouth opening. The container may be placed within an open-bottomed casing 8, Fig. 6, having a spout 10 and provided with claws 12 which pierce the wall of the container. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes the employment of translucent paper to afford windows in the container, and the provision below the mouth portion of a non-adhesive zone at which the container could be cut open. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
