Abstract

385,033. Cartons. HARTMANN, C.W., Lyngby, near Copenhagen. Sept. 14, 1931, No. 25776. [Classes 18 and 66.] In a carton, particularly for granular substances, of the kind in which, disposed between the overlapping closure flaps at one end of the carton, is a slidable or rotatable member 8 or 14 respectively provided with one or more perforations 2 which can be brought into register with corresponding perforations in the end closure flaps to allow the contents to be poured out, the carton is provided with an airtight lining which can be punctured when the perforations in the member 8 or 14 and the closure flaps are brought into register. The lining may be formed as in Specification 288,734, [Class 18, Boxes &c.]. For manipulation purposes, the member 8 has a depending fingerpiece 9 with flanged ears at the sides and the member 14 has a projecting finger-piece 16. To prevent complete withdrawal of the metal strip 8, its inner end is provided with downturned teeth which engage in a rectangular &c. recess in the closure flap underlying the strip. The member 14 is pivoted on a pin 15 passed through the lower of the two uppermost closure flaps.
