Abstract

494,930. Mixing - mills ; disc mills. GENTILLI, P. Nov. 22, 1937, No. 32138. [Classes 59 and 86] Mixing-apparatus for dry or moist pulverulent materials comprises a pair of smooth discs which are free from grinding roughnesses and rotate in contact in the same direction about axes out of alignment within a steepwalled hopper leading to the discharge outlet. The upper disc 2 is mounted on a ball joint 14 carried by a feeding shoot 10 which can be adjusted to vary the displacement between the axes of the discs by means of screws 11. The lower disc 1 is driven by a shaft 3 within a sleeve 9 fitted with a rack and weighted pinion 5 by means of which the discs are pressed together. The material discharged at the edges of the discs falls into a steep-walled hopper 12 with a discharge 13. Specification 16511/15, [Class 59], is referred to.
