[Classes 59 and 86] A mill for the dry preparation of mixtures of materials and colours for the manufacture of tiles comprises a horizontal drum adapted to be rotated continuously in one direction, a charging hopper, a feeding worm arranged externally of the drum at one end thereof and a discharging worm at the opposite end, both worms being mounted upon a shaft disposed on the axis of the drum and adapted to rotate in a contrary direction thereto, the said shaft carrying radial arms' inside the drum adapted to stir both the charged material and crushing balls. The drum 1, Fig. 1, made of iron sheets lined with ceramic bricks 4, bolted to journalled plates 7 and 8 and driven through a toothed wheel 14, has a shaft 5 provided with radial arms 6, a charging worm 19 supplied from the hopper 13 and a discharging worm 19<1> fed through a screening plate 17 and delivering onto a sieve 11 over a hopper 10. A removable plate 18 protects the end plate 7 against wearing action of the crushing balls 16 and the contents of the mill. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a pug mill, Fig. 2 (Cancelled), having a hopper 22, supplied with the aforementioned mix after moistening, and delivering to rollers 24 and 25, the latter being subject to variable pressures through a crank 39 and adjustable weights 37. Scrapers 23 pivoted on cranks 231 are balanced by counterweights 34. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
