Abstract

784,525. Mixing machines. POWLINGS PATENT PROCESSES, Ltd. March 8, 1956 [Dec. 8, 1954], No. 35594/54. Class 86 A mixing machine for cereals &c. comprises a tank 1 having a curved bottom and within which is mounted a horizontal shaft 4 fitted with spaced four-armed spiders 9 to the ends of which horizontal beaters 10 are secured. The tank is charged through an opening in the top, normally closed by a lid 12, and the mixed materials are discharged, by means of scoops 14 attached to the relevant ends of the beaters 10, through an elevated shoot 15 normally closed by a slide 16. The shaft 4 is preferably rotated by a motor 7, and the beaters may be fitted with spaced agitators 13 consisting of pieces of angle iron set at an angle of about 45 degrees to the length thereof.
