Abstract

749,413. Batch mixing-machines. AIR CONDITIONING & ENGINEERING (N.I.), Ltd., and BROWN, O. S. Jan. 13, 1955 [June 30, 1954], No. 19115/54. Class 86. A mixing-machine comprises a receptacle 1 having a central vertical tubular member 9 therein through which material is conveyed on rotation of a central worm 7. Material, such as meal, is conveyed to the lower end of the worm 7 from a hopper 6 by a horizontal worm 8. On reaching the top of the tube 9 the material drops over the sides thereof to the bottom of the container 1 and mixes with the incoming meal and is re-circulated. The worm 7 is driven by an electric motor 17 and the drive is transmitted to worm 8 through belt gearing 16, 18. Samples of the mix may be run off through a small outlet pipe 20 having a shutter control 21. The receptacle 1 can be emptied through a shoot 22 controlled by a shutter 23.
