Abstract

994,993. Mixing appliances. O. EVANS. March 6, 1962, No. 8671/62. Heading B1C. A mixer for animal feeding stuffs has a container 16 with two inclined flat sides 18, 20 and vertical ends 24, 26, a curved bottom 22 and a cover 28. There are three horizontal shafts 34, 45, 50 of which the first is positioned about half way up and to one side of the container and extends through an aperture 30 in the end 24. The extension carries a screw conveyer 36 to feed material from the feed hopper 25 into the mixing container, the part of the shaft in the container having paddles 38, 38<SP>1</SP>. The shaft 45 is located at the top and to the other side of the container and has paddles 46, 46<SP>1</SP>; and the shaft 50 is in the bottom of the container and has paddles 52, 52<SP>1</SP> which also scrape the curved surface 22. A vertical screw conveyer 40 is positioned midway between the ends and to one side of the container, passing between the shafts 45, 50. The paddles 38, 38<SP>1</SP> ; 46, 46<SP>1</SP>; 50, 52<SP>1</SP> are all orientated to move material to the centre of the container, where it is raised by the screw 40 and falls back into the container as shown, see also Fig. 3 (not shown). There is a discharge door and spout 32, 60. The apparatus may be mounted on a motor vehicle and driven by its engine.
