Abstract

490,117. Regulating. ZAN, T. Dec. 20, 1937, No. 35216. Convention date, June 2. [Class 7 (vi)] Gas supplied at 15 to a reservoir 1 passes through a connection 17 to a chamber 18 closed by a valve 19 in the induction pipe, the inlet 15 to the reservoir being controlled by a spring-closed valve 12 connected by a spindle 6 to a diaphragm 4 at the top of the reservoir. The valve 19 is also closed by a spring 26, and the two springs are so adjusted that when the gas pressure in the reservoir is sufficient to lift the diaphragm 4 to close the valve 12, the gas pressure is just sufficient also to open the valve 19. The suction of air past the valve 19 then causes it to open to admit gas to mix therewith. This air suction acts upon the head 20 of the valve 19. At starting, the spindle 6 may be depressed by hand to cause an outflow of gas past the valve 19. The reservoir 1 and chamber 18 may be made in the form of a single chamber with a dividing wall.
