Abstract

456,699. Starting oil engines. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4. Militarstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Jan. 6, 1936, No. 458. Convention date, Jan. 9, 1935. [Class 7 (v)] Apparatus, for starting injection internalcombustion engines, in which fuel feeding means and a fuel heating device are provided, comprises a fuel container detachably connected to an annulus which is itself detachably connected to a casing for the fuel heater communicating with the inlet manifold. Fuel is fed through a passage 41 in an annulus w to a float chamber v applied to the lower edge of the annulus, and the chamber and annulus are secured to a vertical part of a casing x, for an electric fuel heater 55, by a clamp 53 pivoted on the casing. The passage 41 is formed in a block 36 guiding a gravity valve 38 which lifts when air is drawn into the annulus through ports 47. The casing x leads to an inlet pipe p branched from a horizontal portion r thereof and a valve y places the pipe in communication with either an air inlet t or the vaporizer 55 which is supported by an insulated bolt 48. A lip 52 in the casing returns unvaporized particles to the heater.
