Abstract

495,907. Regulating. WISHART, J. D. Oct. 11, 1937, No. 27603. [Class 7 (vi)] In means for regulating the supply of air and gas to gas engines, a plate valve 18 fulcrumed at 18b is pressed by a spring 22 on to a seating formed with gas-inlet ports 15 and airinlet ports 16, so as to open and close all the ports simultaneously, the mixture passing to the engine at 26. In a modification, the ports are annular and concentric. The air-inlet passage may be adjusted by (1) a plug formed at the end of a screw adjustable to move the plug more or less to obstruct the passage, or (2) by a plate valve actuated by a piston or diaphragm subjected to the suction in the gassupply pipe, or (3) by means of slides 17 adapted to cover the ports 16. The valve 18 may be pivoted by means of trunnions 20 screwed into split supports 19 fitted with screws 21 for locking the trunnions in position. The spring 22 is adjustable by means of a screw plug 24.
