697,560. Regulating. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP DE BATAAFSCHE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ. Aug. 7, 1951 [Aug. 8, 1950]; No. 18594/51. Class 7 (vi). In a gas engine comprising an air supply pipe 1 and a gas supply pipe 9 which join upstream of the intake port, each pipe is provided with a constriction 4, 8, and a flow regulator 2, 7, upstream thereof, and the pressure' differentials created by the constrictions are applied to a pair of interconnected diaphragms or pistons 12, 13, which actuate the gas valve 7 in such a manner that the pressure differentials are maintained in a predetermined ratio. The construction 4 comprises a Venturi tube, and the constriction 8 is adjustable by a needle valve in order to vary the fuel-air ratio. The gas valve 7 is balanced for the gas pressures acting thereon, and the throttle valve 2 controls the inlet of a supercharger 3 in the air pipe.
