Abstract

910,342. Carburetters. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES. Jan. 24, 1961 [Jan. 28, 1960], No. 2782/61. Class 7(3) [Also in Group XXIX] In a pressure reducing device 12 having a chamber 2 connected in line between a pump 8 and a carburetter fuel-injection nozzle 11 with a by-pass port 13 leading to sump 9 controlled by valve 3, in which increased air flow through Venturi 25 upstream of throttle 23 produces suction between differential diaphragms 14, 16 to close valve 3 against balancing spring 21 and increase fuel flow, and vice versa, the connection between the diaphragm and valve is a push rod 18 of length greater than the distance between the planes of the valve head and diaphragm 14. By having rod 18 entering valve stem recess 19 and central diaphragm-boss recess 20, friction due to twisting and misalignment is avoided and the device becomes more sensitive.
