Abstract

1309730 Controlling fuel injection SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES 14 Oct 1971 [30 Oct 1970] 47918/71 Addition to 1207228 Heading F1B A modification or improvement of a fuel feed device of the parent Specification 1207228 comprises a fuel metering system responsive to the opening of auxiliary throttle 3 to maintain air/fuel ratio constant for some engine operating conditions in which the pressure of fuel supplied to an electromagnetic injection valve 16 is regulated be a relief valve 55 which tends to open under the delivery pressure of fuel pump 50 and to be closed by suction in the inlet conduit between main and auxiliary throttles 2 and 3. The inlet conduit is connected to regulator 54 by pipe 56 containing a calibrated orifice 85, on the regulator side of which is a connection to a chamber 84 whose volume is variable in response to operation of main throttle 2. Opening of the throttle 2 increases the suction in a chamber 62 of regulator 54 resulting in an increase of fuel pressure to the injection valve 16.
