1444616 I C engine exhaust gas recirculation HITACHI Ltd 12 Oct 1973 [16 Oct 1972] 47823/73 Heading F1B An exhaust gas recirculation passage 8 for connecting an exhaust pipe 3 and an intake pipe 2 downstream of a carburetter throttle valve 4 has a metering valve 10 adapted to respond to the carburetter Venturi vacuum and a pressure control valve 31 which is adapted to maintain the pressure in the passage between the valves substantially constant. The valve 10 provides an exhaust gas recirculation flow-rate substantially proportional to the air intake flow-rate.
