[Class 40 (v)] In order to prevent the production of " keyclicks " along the median line of a navigational system of the overlapping-beam type, the fieldstrength along the line is maintained constant during the change-over period from one side to the other of the two reflecting dipoles by varying the length of the feeder between the source A and dipole C, as at B, Fig. 3, or by inserting a variable condenser across the aerial feeding points, Fig. 4 (not shown), or by using an adjustably-tuned coupling B, Fig. 5, to vary the impedance transformation. Or a four-terminal impedance may be interposed between the high-frequency source and the feed-line for the same purpose.
