Directive signalling.-Relates to receiving systems comprising frame and open aerials combined so as to possess a cardioid directional effect. Instead of tuning the open aerial to a shorter wave length than the desired signal and adjusting the current phase by a resistance inserted in the aerial, the dephasing resistance is included in an aperiodic conducting or coupling circuit, conveniently in or near the actual receiving cabin, and the open aerial is mistuned to a longer wave-length. The aperiodic frame aerial is coupled to the common receiving circuit S through an aperiodic circuit II, whilst the open aerial, formed by earthing the frame R, is coupled to the receiver through a second aperiodic circuit I comprising an adjustable resistance W for shifting the current phase into direct opposition with that in the circuit 11.
