307,237. Jackson, L. Mellersh-, (Federal Telegraph Co.). April 11, 1928. Directive signalling.- The directional characteristic of a frame aerial 11 is accentuated to obtain greater selectivity by setting up a long open-ended aerial 24 across the plane of the loop. The aerial 24 may be tuned by a coil 25 either to a particular interfering frequency or to the frequency of reception. The receiver 13 is coupled to the frame aerial 11 but not to the open aerial 24. An interfering wave approaching from an angle 15 is deflected by the aerial 24 into a direction more nearly in line with the aerial 24 and therefore exerts less effect on the frame 11.
