Bearings, determining; directive signalling. - In wireless direction-finders of the Bellini-Tosi type on board ship, errors due to the receiving and re-radiating of energy by the ship itself, are neutralized by having one frame at right-angles to the fore-and-aft line, and the other in the fore- and-aft line, and of such a size or so coupled or provided with chokes as to be, apart from the effect of the ship, less affected by incoming waves than the former frame. In a modification, a Bellini-Tosi system is arranged so that the angle between the frames, and, correspondingly, the angle between the coils of the radiogoniometer, can be varied. According to the Provisional Specification, the aperiodic aerial system described in Specification 149,066 is preferably used.
