Abstract
263,753. Yagi, H. Dec. 29, 1925, [Convention date]. Directive signalling. - A directional aerial system comprises a main aerial 1 in combination with insulated reftectors 2 - - 4 situated on a line with or to the rear of the main aerial, and insulated director aerials 5 - - 5<111> situated along the line of the radiated energy. The reflectors are tuned to a wavelength equal to or longer than the radiated wavelength, whilst the " directors " are tuned to a shorter wavelength. In Fig. 2 the reflector 2 is located one quarter wavelength behind the main-aerial 1, the reflectors 3, 3<1> are half a wavelength on each side of the main aerial, and the directors are spaced apart by a distance more than one quarter wavelength. The conductors 4, 4<1> are mainly operative in shielding the main aerial from undesired signals arriving from other directions.
