Abstract

488,572. Fountain pens. WERNER, E. K. Jan. 9, 1937, No. 693. [Class 146 (iii)] In a fountain pen employing solid ink with water or other solvent, a recess in the feed-bar 13 for the ink-stick is sealed at the end communicating with the reservoir by the stick, and a lateral aperture 31 in the bar enables the solvent to pass over an intermediate part of the stick during its passage from the reservoir to the nib. The feedbar is frictionally mounted in a part 26 of the nib-section, and is provided with the usual feedducts from which the aperture 31 extends into the chamber for the ink-stick. The part 26 of the nib-section screws into a second part 20 which is frictionally mounted in the barrel and carries the self-filling sac 24.
