Abstract

505,564. Fountain pens. GEE, D. Nov. 11, 1937, No. 31013. [Class 146 (iii)] In a collapsable-sac self-filling fountain pen, the ink at the rear end of the sac can be separated from the main supply of ink to form a reserve which can be released into the main part of the sac. The sac I is mounted between two presser bars 3, 4, the bar 3 being secured in the barrel and the bar 4 being operable to deflate the sac by a lever 5 pivoted in the barrel. The bar 4 terminates short of the end of the sac, and a further bar 7 actuated by a lever 8, is mounted above the end of the sac. The lever 8 is provided with a projection 10 which, in inoperative position, depresses the end of the bar 7 into co-operation with a ridge 11 in the bar 3 to close the end of the sac. In a modification, the projection 10 is formed on the end of the main operating-lever 5.
